[Translate to English:] #goodtobeback Stories

Trainee Jalal tells us today about his first experiences back in the office:

What was your first feeling when you entered the office?

I am thrilled to be back in the office!

How many colleagues did you see?

About seven colleagues have already crossed my way.

What did you miss the most and is there anything you miss regarding WORKING FROM ANYWHERE?

I definitely missed the colleagues and the nice atmosphere here in the office. What I miss from WORKING ROM ANYWHERE is my couch!

How about meetings? Are they going well?

It works quite well, even if not everyone dares to always turn on the camera.

Despite the changes, do you still have a feeling of solidarity with your team and colleagues?

The feeling of solidarity has not changed in any way.

Did you like the concept of ESSZIMMER TO GO?

I really like the concept, especially the reusable packaging. The food still tastes super delicious!

If you’re drinking coffee: Is it better at WORKING FROM ANYWHERE or in the office?

The best way to start the day is with a coffee from the office.

Team sweatpants or business?

Team business!

Thank you, Jalal!

This time with Phil Emery!

What was your first feeling when you entered the office?

Quiet. Lots of people waiting for the eye clinic and not many PAYBACK staff – but good to be back!

How many colleagues did you see so far?

Maybe 10-15 but as I said above not many PAYBACK people. I have one other colleague working in my area right now.

What did you miss the most?

I missed the separation in my work day, and I miss the office banter/adhoc conversations. So much is done over these methods of communication.

Was it challenging for you to separate private and work life?

I don’t think this was such a challenge, but certainly being in one location continually in the early days without any physical interactions with other people wasn’t good for my mental health. We joked what day of the week is it today? Oh its bin day. Then you know it’s a Friday.

How about meetings? Are they going well?

We've got used to a life of telephone / video calls now. I still don’t think they are as productive as face to face meetings, but we have become better. The upside is people are more punctual for meetings as they don’t have far to go, the downside is that you don’t have that few minutes between meetings when you change rooms to reset the brain, and prepare for the next onslaught.

Do you like the concept of ESSZIMMER TO GO?

YES!! – I am fed up of cooking for one at home. So happy to have a canteen back.

If you’re drinking coffee: Is it better at WORKING FROM ANYWHERE or in the office?

It is certainly cheaper in the office . At home I was getting through at least a pack of Dallmayr a week in the filter machine.

Are you team sweatpants or team business?

A mixture of both. Depending on where I am and what kind of meeting it is.

Could you imagine doing an Instagram takeover for one day?

If it's a bit more exciting again, I'd love to! Right now it would be a bit boring with only 25% in the office.

Thank you, Phil!

Andrea told us about her first experiences back in the office:

What was your first feeling when you entered the office?

It was like coming home for me!

How many colleagues did you meet already?

Since I have only been back for two weeks, I have seen about five colleagues so far.

What did you miss the most and is there anything you miss regarding WORKING FROM ANYWHERE?

The separation between work and private life is something I miss a lot. I also miss my own desk!

How about meetings? Are they going well?

So far I haven't had any problems, everything is going very well. But it could get more difficult with time, because I don't have an own office.

Despite the changes, do you still have a feeling of solidarity with your team and colleagues?

I have no worries so far. The cooperation with my team and other colleagues still works very well.

Do you like the concept of ESSZIMMER TO GO?

I think it's great! For me it is even better if only two dishes are offered, that helps me to decide faster.

If you’re drinking coffee: Is it better at WFA or in the office?

I must admit, I've missed the coffee at the office!

Team sweatpants or casual business?

In the office team jeans and at home team sweatpants!

Are you interested in an Instagram takeover for one day?

Yeah, why not!

Thank you, Andrea!
